Cadmium Molybdate, CdMoO4

Yellow shining leaf-like crystals of Cadmium Molybdate, CdMoO4 were obtained by melting sodium molybdate, cadmium chloride, and salt together. As precipitated by adding an alkaline molybdate to a solution of cadmium nitrate it is a heavy granular salt, insoluble in water and, when moist, soluble in ammonia, acids, and potassium cyanide. Ignition does not make it insoluble in acids. CdO.H2O.8MoO3.6H2O and (I2O5.2MoO3).3CdO.15H2O have been prepared.
