Cadmium Nitride, Cd3N2
Cadmium Nitride, Cd3N2, is a black amorphous powder obtained by heating cadmium amide in vacuo at 180° C. On exposure to moist air it becomes orange and then white. In contact with water it explodes, and metallic cadmium is deposited.
