Cadmium Perchlorate, Cd(ClO4)2
A transparent crystalline mass, deliquescent and soluble in alcohol, is obtained by evaporating a solution of cadmium oxide in perchloric acid. The liepta- and tetra-hydrates are very hygroscopic and, when heated, decompose before they lose all their water. The unstable hex- and tetr-ammoniates, Cd(ClO4)2.6NH4 and Cd(ClO4)2.4NH4, have been obtained.
