Cadmium Periodate

Compounds of the general type xCdO.yI₂O₇.zH₂O have been prepared by treating cadmium carbonate with periodic acid or by treating cadmium salts with alkaline periodates. A light brown powder of CdHIO₅ is precipitated by adding cadmium sulphate to a solution of Na₂H₃IO₆.
