Cadmium Selenate, CdSeO₄

The dihydrate, CdSeO₄.2H₂O, can be crystallised in transparent tabular crystals from a solution of cadmium oxide in selenic acid. It dissolves readily in water, loses half its water at 100° C., and becomes anhydrous at higher temperatures. It crystallises in the monoclinic system.

The double salts, Rb₂SeO₄.CdSeO₄.6H₂O, Cs₂SeO₄.CdSeO₄.6H₂O, (NH₄)₂SeO₄.CdSeO₄.6H₂O, and (NH₄)₂SeO₄.CdSeO₄.2H₂O, have been prepared.
